ChatterPix is a straightforward App but has so many opportunities for use in lessons. My students really enjoy using it. It's available for free on the App store.

The App let's you select a picture of a character, mark where the mouth is and then when you talk, the mouth moves. Here is an example of a ChatterPix a pupil in my class made when describing a detective:

How do you create a ChatterPix?

The App is easy to use. First choose whether you want to take a photo of a character (you could ask your students to draw one in their books and then photograph it) or use one from your picture gallery.

Next take the photo. Download anydesk for mac free.

When you're happy with the image, swipe your finger along the mouth.

After, record what you want your character to say (you have 30 seconds).

Modern ie for mac download. Listen to your recording and re-do it if you are not happy with it. Next you can add some visual effects and text to the image.

Finally save your ChatterPix and export it as a video. And you're done!

Other ideas I had:
* Pupils could take a selfie and do a lesson reflection.
* Pupils could find an image of a famous person (good for history too) and narrate their biography.
* Pupils could record key vocabulary.

How else could it be used in lessons? Feel free to leave comments below.

A few weeks ago I ran across another fun, FREEapp for project creation called Chatterpix for Kids. It allows you to take any image you have and make it speak! It is very easy to use. Children of all ages are able to use it independently. The example I am creating will share properties of a rectangle.

Start off by either taking a picture or adding an image from your camera roll. I chose to first draw my image in the Doodle Buddy app and save to my camera roll.

Next it is time to animate and record:

  1. Use your finger to draw a mouth anywhere on your image. It can be as long as you wish. If you are not happy with your first try, simply give it another shot. The app will delete the previous attempt and keep the last mouth you have drawn.
  2. Press the record button to record your information. You can record for up to 30 seconds.

You have options to add extras to your image on the next screen. Filters, stickers, frames, and text options are available to use. I chose to add 'Rectangle' to my image using the text feature.

Chatterbox App

Download google drive for mac sierra. All you have left is to export your image to your camera roll so it can be used or shared however you choose. There are two different apps in the app store: Chatterpix and Chatterpix for Kids. Both are free. Chatterpix allows you to post to certain social media sites right from the app. I like Chatterpix for Kids because that option does not exist. The only option your students have will be to export to the camera roll. My finished product is below. Quick and easy. A great way for students to show what they know.
